Mujahidin Hydropower Project, Torghar

Project Brief:

The proposed Project is located on Barandoo River, a right tributary of the Indus River between Mujahidin and Dadam villages of District Torghar. The Project area is located at about 173 km from Peshawar towards the North-East and 230 km from Islamabad in the North-West direction in District Torghar at 34°-46’ to 34°- 42’ latitudes and 72o -77’ to 72o -72’ longitudes. Geographically, it is bordered to the north by District Shangla & District Batgram, to the south by District Swabi/Mardan, to the west by District Buner, and to the East by District Mansehra.

Project Status:

  • Contract Agreement signed with the Consultants “M/s. ACE, NESPAK, AGES & BAK JV” on December 30, 2022.

  • Inception Report has been submitted and thereafter commented on by the PEDO.

  • The Feasibility Review Report has been submitted and thereafter commented on by the PEDO.

  • Topographic Survey has been Completed.

  • Transmission Line Survey in Progress.

Challenges/Delays Faced During the Project:

  • A delay has occurred in the PC-I projected dates due to the incumbent processes involved in the Bidding and thereafter Award of the Consultancy Agreement.
  • Presently, the Project is in Pre-Construction Phase without substantial delay with respect to the Schedule incorporated in the Consultancy Agreement.
